We are quickly approaching our 2nd Annual Italian Feast of Santa Clarita. Last year was such a huge success and we are so ecstatic about bringing it back. If you didn’t have the opportunity to attend last year, let me give you a little background on our exciting event…

Frankie Competelli owner of Frankie’s on Melrose, in Hollywood Ca, and soon to be opening his second location in the new Bridgeport Marketplace, will bring the Italian-American experience to life through The Feast of The Blessed Mother. Being a restaraunteur for 25 years, he has the talent and knowledge to make any event a successful one. This has led up to him becoming a co-founder, and now the President of the Feast of San Gennaro in Los Angeles, which was started in 2001.- an event that draws over 50,000 visitors over four days.

For The Feast of San Gennaro, Frankie Competelli has coordinated vendors and businesses for the last six years, in promoting their products and services. Now, with the help of his daughters, Teresa and Rosemary, will co-produce The Feast of the Blessed Mother in an effort to give back to our own community, Santa Clarita. The Feast of The Blessed Mother is intended to promote family fun through music, delicious Italian food and culture. It’s our intention that through the Feast, fellow community members will enjoy first hand the many contributions Italian Americans have made to American culture.

Plans for the 2008 event will start on Friday June 6th thru Sunday June 8th, with hours from 11am-10pm. It will include more than 20 vendor booths, making available food, beverages (including a cocktail bar), and merchandise, much of which will be Italian themed. Live entertainment nightly, led by fellow Italian Americans, local dance studios and local school performances. Non-profit booths will be donated in exchange for their contribution to a designated Kidz Korner. Out of Frankie’s love for children and reverence of the family, Frankie Competelli is adamant that an area be set aside for children at no charge. Rides, games and activities will create an experience to be remembered. Every child wins.
